Hi all,
I'm the owner of a new 2014 CVO Road King, my first Harley-Davidson bike. I'm 58, and a doctor, and I've been riding since I was 15, both street and dirt bikes.
I ride sport bikes on the street and on the track, and own 3 Ducatis, including an 1199 Panigale R, as well as a Diavel Red Carbon and a 1098 FS Streetfighter S.
I traded a BMW K1600GT for my Road King, and am very happy with the change. I had rented a Softtail Custom and a V-Rod in the past while on vacation which were ok, but had never ridden an H-D touring bike. I had no idea what nice bikes the tourers are. The Road King is a great bike, with clean and simple lines, but many amenities for the rider. Both the 103 standard bike, which I test drove, and the 110 CVO motor are very strong, and fun to ride, with nimble handling below 45mph, and great stability and smoothness at higher speeds. The massive torque makes up for the lower high end power in riding enjoyment, and the overall engine behavior encourages a relaxed riding style that I'm starting to really like, as opposed to the more frenetic sportbike approach.
I'm glad to be here, and happy to make everyone's acquaintance.
