From my understanding, the ride is about patriotism in support of those who perished on 9/11. The permit was denied by the National Park Service and not "Washington", the main reason being due to the fact that it's a work day in DC, not a Holiday or weekend, and would cause HUGE traffic problems without the manpower to handle it. It was not a political decision, but a logistical/practical one. Of course, the ride is happening anyway, but it will be far from 2 million people/bikes, and LEO will do the best they can to make it go smoothly.
The link posted at the top of the page would suggest otherwise, and the site linked obviously has an "agenda" with regards to politics/religion. Read the rules for posting on the general forum as opposed to the Chat Room. Frankly, I'm surprised the original post has not been removed or locked down, but it's not my site, nor my decision.
