Starter has a mind of it's own!
« on: September 11, 2013, 07:49:45 AM »

On my 2009 Screamin Eagle Roadglide, the starter engages by itself now. Started yesterday when I was sitting at a stoplight. I can hear the bendix engaging. Pulled over and turned the bike off. Turned it back on and hit the run switch and the bike started without pushing the start button. Thought it may be a bad switch but after looking at the wiring schematic looks like it could also be the start relay or maybe even something in the ECM
I just picked it up two days ago from the dealer after having the bike dyno tuned

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Had something similar happen to my buddy's Sporty and it turned out to be the start switch. Not too bad to install, had to pull the front of the tank up in order to access the connector on the harness then cut and solder the new harness to the pigtail. Good luck...hope it's that simple.

$.02:  There's your problem.  Too much of a coincidence that the problem started the next day.  Pardon the pun.
