I have a CVO Road King on order. I was kind of surprised to learn the 14 CVO Road Kings come with the lowered version of the Premium Ride Cartridge Fork Kit. These are the single cartridge forks that are available in the parts catalogue for 14 touring bikes. (The 09-13's are still available with the dual cartridge system.) Im a suspension newbie, can anyone tell me the difference between single or double cartridge? Also we're the 13 CVO's also lowered in the front? The specs show the same seat height on the two bikes....
This brings me to my main question, what rear shocks would you suggest for this bike? I was going to go with 11.5 Progressive 444's but with my reading on this forum it seems their may be even better options? I am 5-6 with short legs so I want to get the bike just a little bit lower if possible without drastically ruining the ride of the bike. I have heard good things about Ohlins, Works, Etc.... However i know nothing about shocks. When I sit on the bike with the standard prem rear shocks the bike feels like it has no give or sag even on the lowest setting. I am also planning on shaving the seat.....
If anyone can give some opinions or guidance I would appreciate it
Thanks!
