so.. search isnt working well for me... or I'm alcohol deprived.
« on: September 12, 2013, 04:33:57 AM »

Not too long ago, there was a guy that had a nice tutorial with pics of swapping bars on a late model Road King (2011-up)

Now, I was either too blitzed to remember where to find it, or I didnt drink enough tonight to recall it.  :nixweiss: Or I was completely sober and looking on a different site.... but seeing this is about the only HD forum I frequent, I'm 99.9% sure it was here.

Anyway, if anyone can point me in the right direction your help would be greatly appreciated.

I've gotten pretty far along with tearing the wife's scoot apart, now I'm trying not to break the connectors as I try to remove the wires from the connector so I can run the wires into the bar.

For the sake of it I'm using a set of 2008 SERK bars for her 2011 RKC (She liked the bars and how they felt...)

 :help:

Try searching for WO 575. A lot of us have changed over to these and there are several posts describing the process on several different models. The actual process would be basically the same for any style bars.

Removing the bars is the easiest part... pulling the pins out of the connector... THATs whats giving me fits.

a small paper clip fits in the hole just fine, and I can press down into the hole but I cannot get the pin to release.

I'm trying hard not to break the pin/wire/or my sanity.

and yes I was doing this all sober.

...ahhhh thats it!  :drink:

OK, trying again!

So, I missed the part in the manual that indicates pulling the center out of the connector FIRST....

I knew the alcohol had something to do with it!

Now, to see if I have a pair of needle nose pliers that are that small!
