2006 Registry Update

Guys I have sad news to report.  My '06 SE melon (number 6 on Mike's registry) is soon to be departed.  My little crash in north GA on the way back to MV from lunch at the Dillard house totaled my bike.  Just waiting on the insurance company to get back to me next week about how we are going to handle this.

It is funny how you get attached to inatimate objects - they bring up fond memories of good times with good friends.  I brought her home last evening from the dealer since I want to get some of my "goodies" that weren't damaged before the salvage company comes to get her.  As my wife and I surveyed the pitiful conditon she is in, J. Carolyn began to cry, remembering how faithful the melon has been to us and how much we have enjoyed her.  Even after the crash she brought us safely back home - some 650 miles pulling our Bushtec trailer.

We will most certainly miss her but I will definitely be getting a new '07 cuse and hope to be back on the road before too very long.  Will keep you posted.

I think we all understand about the attachment comment. Even though it's a machine we do put a part of ourselves into it (some of us physically as well as mentally). The good news is that you & momma are OK and that you'll be in the wind again catching bugs in your teeth  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] ;)

Just looking to see what I can find that is (will be soon) available, and at what price.  I like all the colors.  Wish they had done the SE Ultra in that georgeous candy cobalt with gold leafing like they did for the SE Road King.  We'll see what we can turn up.  Will keep you posted.

Wow Jerry, hadn't heard about the accident, glad you two are ok.  The bike can be replaced.  But don't ya think wrecking it to get an '07 is a bit extreme????  [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]

So what happened with the accident??  Deer, another vehicle, lost it doing a wheelie??

I'll update the Registry with a status column and put yours down as Totaled.....

It was the Wednesday ride in Maggie Valley...there should be some posts about it in the chatter thread.

not to speak for Jerry...

They were about a dozen bikes ahead of us so that when we got to the scene others were already starting down the ravine.
