The report begs the questions: Serviced how and for what?

Can you imagine all the ways an ESP inspector will try to figure out the extramarital causes for an onboard fire....

Oh yeah....  But if I had an unmolested bike only serviced at a dealership (a couple big assumptions) - let the games begin!

Even the "only serviced at the dealership" doesn't put you in the catbird seat on such a potential mess though.  If a dealer had done and noted something as simple as tightening a loose battery cable at some time it lays the groundwork for each to say the repair is the other's responsibility.  And all the while the poor schmuck who owns the bike is left letting them argue and drag things on.  God help the rider is if he's ever added (or had added) something like one of the many plug modules to stabilize for LEDs or alter brake and tail light functions.

I taste barf in my mouth just thinking about what a potential mess this could be.  If there's been any additions or alterations you can't even count on your own insurance being willing to pick up the bill.  Oy vey....

The bike was gifted from a friend in my chapter sadly he passed on after his illness , the current owner has now owned the bike 2 yrs it's only serviced by HD in the UK , he's an experienced rider who rides his two Harley's very frequently
It wasn't long ago it had the regulator replaced under re call , it will be an insurance claim currently awaiting inspection .
