Motorcycle Lifts
« on: September 29, 2013, 11:39:50 PM »

I'm almost done with my new garage and I want to get full size, drive on lift to aid in cleaning and maintenance.   I had my eye on the Black Widow.   Does anyone have a suggestions or reviews for lifts?

There is a good thread in the archives on lifts, may be worth trying to find.

I have two drive on lifts and when I purchase a third it will be one with a drop out in the back to help with changing tires/wheels.

I have one that is diamond plate, never again. It isn't junk, I just prefer a smooth top. The diamond plate is just fine for detailing or general use. I use my smooth top to do fab work on.

X2 on the Handy,  I have had one for 15 years.  No issues.  You can buy cheaper, but not better in my opinion....

I have a Titan and it works Great. Has a high lift height which allowed me to recess it in the garage floor.

I bought a used Handy with side table extensions and vice for 200 bucks from a dealer who sold his business to another dealer that had a fully equipped shop already.  I think I came out ok on that transaction.

x2 on the Titan. I got it on sale @ Daytona Bike Week for $500 + freight.  Works on hydraulic & pneumatic.  Has drop-out and vise.  Very happy with it.  Good value.

I went with the Lift from Harbor Freight...so far (2 months) i have loved it. It get's the bike up to a great level to work on it. I only purchased a small "pancake jack" to lift the bike on the table. I also added the ride in chock which will support the bike. It has no problems lifting the bike and more importantly holding it there. It was $299 if you get the coupon out of their ads in the magazines.

Direct lift for me. I really like it but hardly use it.

Ditched the cheap front wheel wise and put in a HD aluminum ride in version.

If I could I would sell it but it's to difficult to ship

If you're going to the trouble, dropping the lift into the floor is the only way to go IMO.
