I definately have the heat problem.

Rode back from Galveston Bike rally 65 deg outside at 75 mph home.  Oil Temp gauge reading 240.  Bike all stock.

The hair on my thighs are burnt off - and I wear Levi's and chaps!

Robmay -- my tranny rattle in 5th from 2400 to 4500 just makes a different noise from 4th and 6th - more like first gear.

I picked up the bike 9/1 and had temps of 285 deg in 95 deg outside temp - horrible.

I would assume that all our 07's probably vary +/- 10-15 degrees between bikes....

I sure this is all due to the lean-ness of our rides -- If only I had a SERT.... ;D

TC,

Amsoil in all 3 holes - 20w50 in primary and crankcase, severe gear 75w90 in tranny.

Replaced syn3 at 1k maint.

Gonna replace all at 5k mark in 500 mi and have it tested.

Those are high temps with Amsoil...that's the highest I've ever seen my 103, even with the chitty Syn3 in 90 degree temps.

Yes, I was shocked ---- yes shocked! at the high temps.

I ran 240 from fac on stock 88 05 RKC with v&h true duals w/ovals, and PCIII - changed from dyno oil  to amsoil and ran at 210-220.

I guess HD ran these 110s at North pole with Santa and EPA folks in Dec 06 in order to see if temps ok.

No wonder the Moco doesn't want us to put the Oil temp gauge feed in the oil pan vs. the out line of the oil cooler....

(insert another b.s. story about the Moco tech support group / dealer installers here.. thank God for FLHRSEI.org for correct install instructions.)

Anyway all will be fixed with SERT (robmay,  ;D) or via Zippers ECM/Closed system soon.

Mark,

Back to the heat issue. Aren't you running stock as far as AC, pipes and mufflers? If so, it WILL make a difference to change those mufflers out. You can change them without any SERT or other fuel regulator as long as you don't mess with the header pipes or AC at the same time. Try that and go from there. That cross over pipe on the stocke headers and the converters in your mufflers are what is melting your leg.

I think JK from Zippers could be very helpful in providing a true comparison once they get their final testing completed and things slow down a bit on the TMax shipments.

Yea, inquiring minds want to know. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] i have V & H slip-ons that I'm very happy with but since I just ordered all the upper engine Zipper stuff, I am still looking into adding one more set of pipes to my ever-expanding storeroom of OCD parts.
You already have the V&H slip-ons, for a few pennies more you could go w/V&H True Duals. :-/

I am having trouble bolting my front header pipe on my SECUSE2. The header pipe is coming too close to the brake pedal and does not have enough clearance for the heat sheild to be installed without hitting the pedal.

The dealer we bought these from in Spring Hill Fla said they would fit fine. When we called back today regarding this problem he told us that when they install them they just take a screw driver and rag and bend the heat shield a little. WTF?? So we called another dealer in california and they said to go buy and use the Harley exhaust gaskets as this would help, that they only expeierence a problem on every 1-2 out of 10 depending on how the motor is sitting.......... well I guess I got one of the 1 or 2 out of 10 cause that ain't working either!!

I am ready to send these back and get a refund. The dealer should have mentioned the thing about the heat shield in the first place. BTW... don't know if you can tell by the pics but there aint no way the heat shield could be "bent" that much, it would still hit the pedal.

How are the V&H's working out? Anyone have any pics they can post real quick?

I don't know much about the Bassani's, but that "power loop" look turned me off of them.  But that's just my personal opinion, and is not meant to offend anyone that has Bassanis.  They are great pipes.   Here's a pic of my ride with the Vance & Hines duals.  As you can see in the pic, there's plenty of space between the front header and the brake arm.  I've not had any problems, and they have the 02 sensor ports on them.

Red,

Great looking pic!  What did you change out your Air Filter with?  If you SERT'd it, did you just download map 84 or have it Dyno'd?

Thanks,

Mark
