Dan the * after the piston is a sign for a 20 degree angle on the piston that matches a 20 degree angle combustion chamber that makes up the squish.......this helps combustion in the higher rpm's.
Harley used to have a 103 plus head and piston with this set up....the combo made great power....too bad they quit making them but then again it's the MoCo

Doc, thanks for the explanation.  My old '76 FLH has the hemi domed pistons to match up better with the heads and valve angle.  I also had a blown 392 Chrysler hemi in my Willys coupe and it too had the high domed pistons to match the heads, albeit only at 8.5:1 compression for the blower.

Thanks again.

FWIW, I took my bike to Faribault to have it dynoed.  Was very impressed with the service and results.
2012 Road Glide CVO Custom, 110.91 hp / 122.51 torque   A dyno is what it is.  Some may read higher / lower
than others.  Its the tuner behind it that makes the change whether it be the results you are looking for or not.
The results I got there compared to another dyno a year before was slightly higher.  Sure I was pleased, but also
it was given more fuel to do so.  The numbers showed that it was lean and not as happy.  Adding fuel, taking away some timing
made this motor run much smoother with no decel popping etc.

I believe it I saw it sitting on the table. They have it right next to the 120R. I live about 2.5 hours south of Faribault. I know some motorheads that take their bike to Jason. His numbers are just a "tad" on the liberal side lmao.

Tad high is an understatement.

This 120X seems to have all the parts that should have been on the 120R.
Pulling apart brand new 120R's to "fix" em has become rather commonplace. I wonder if HD had an engineer or a bookkeeper designs the latest motors. In either case, HD reputation will and has suffered!  Buffalo

Me thinks that might NOT be as happy as you may think.
Scott

Depending on the compression, those #s look pretty realistic...

I'd still go with an S&S 124.

Here is a previous run from a dealer that I had done due to pinging that came about after a summer of riding that was tuned by
another cycle shop. They do not use TTS, but could pick up the detonation.   After hearing of Jason at Faribault, took it to him. He took care of all tuning issues, doesnt miss a beat...

Forgetting the numbers, nice torque line!
That is very close to my torque line on my '10
Love that 54 cam for touring!
