Latest update....

the close of escrow on the project down there has been extended to 10/24 and the close of escrow on this project has been extended to 10/31.  So, it looks like it'll be the end of the month before I get to go south. :(

Just returned from Coronado.  For those that have never heard of Coronado or never been, it's a resort town just across the bay from San Diego.  Here's a couple of links to photo slide shows that I took today.... that'll show just a bit of why I'm just a tad bit excited about roping this transfer....

Well....to bring this thread full circle....I've been working (and living) on Coronado since last Mon.  An incredably beautiful little town and appears to be summer pretty much year around.  Here's some random photos I took in the last hour...

The beach always has it "regulars"...

and of course it'll always have it's tourists at the beach....

and a few ladies in short shorts even though it's a bit chilly and windy (here you go Gary)...

and of course the Sand Castle Man was there on the beach of the Hotel Del Coronado doing his daily issue.  This guy builds some incredable sandcastles pretty much on a daily basis.  The hotel has a live web cam so you can check ahead of time to see if the Sand Castle Man is there (it moves slow, then zooms in and out slowly, so be patient)    http://www.hoteldel.com/webcam/index.html

And a link to the Sand Castle Man's website....  http://thesandcastleman.com/

Here's Micky and Minnie Mouse at their castle....

Driving down Orange Ave. you see downtown San Diego just across the bay...

I hope all of you enjoyed your trip to the beach today.  8)

JC, it's going to hurt like heck to have to leave that location.  Sure hope this gig is for the long haul. I lived several years on the Balboa Peninsula in Orange County and hated when I had to move away.

JC - Glad to see you got the gig in Coronado! We lived in San Diego in the late '80's and always loved going down to Coronado, especially when the Del was decorated for Christmas. It's a very idyllic location and I am sure you will enjoy your time there. Was great to see some photos from there. Hasn't changed much in 25 years.

Enjoy!

JC was very sad to hear the news of you and Terrie. You were both so very kind to me in my visit to Calif a couple of years ago That I will never forget with the tour of the riverboats and the logger festival the next day. your kindness to a "stranger" was heartwarming. God"s speed to you and Terrie. May you seek to live your life for God!

JC, I've come to the conclusion after viewing your pictures that you should be paying your new company to live and work in your new town instead of them paying you!   ;D. Just beautiful.  :2vrolijk_21:

Nice looking place. The sun looked real nice, we haven't seen the sun here in about three days.

It does look similar...maybe they designed it after the Del Coronado.  The Del Coronado was built in 1888.

LOL, yup:

The Grand Floridian was inspired by the Victorian era beach resorts built along Florida's east coast during the late 19th century and early 20th century; its exterior is modeled after the Mount Washington Resort in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire and Hotel del Coronado in Coronado, California, with red gabled roofs and white walls.
