Granite with Black Powdercoating? Any Pictures?
« on: October 04, 2013, 10:37:00 AM »

I've been tossing around the idea lately of powdercoating much of the chrome on my 2010 CVO SG/RG conversion bike.  The bike is the Tequila Sunrise color, so it would be a good match to the black, I believe.

If I end up doing this, I would not only do items like the forks and engine guard, but also the chrome on the engine too - pushrod covers, rocker boxes (upper and lower), primary cover, cam cover, transmission side and top covers, etc.

I've done some searching, but have come up empty -

Does anyone have any pictures they can share of the granite engine with black powdercoated parts?

The granite and chrome look great together, but I'm thinking it's time for a darker change!

Thanks!

You need to find someone who wants the chrome and swap the parts with them. Otherwise powder guy will have to blast ALL the chrome off the alum and steel parts prior to coating them. And he has to be very careful on the alum or the parts with etch if he blasts even a little to much, steel no problem.
