Looks like a nicely hand-made machinist's hammer.
When I use to hire any new guy here years ago, first thing I'd do was to make them a brass hammer, with an knurled aluminum handle. :)

The hammer next to the crescent wrench looks like a stainless steel surgical hammer used in operating rooms for orthopedic procedures.         JoeS

Joe, you're the winner.   ;D  Have a customer who puts in/installs titanium hip joints with those stainless hammers. Gave me one to operate on MoCo bikes.  :nixweiss:

Thank you, thank you very much. 33 yrs in the OR, I've actually seen them break. Weigh enough to put some real power where you need it.            JoeS

:shocked2: No wonder my ortho surgeon told me I worked him hard when he replaced my hip.... I bet he was swinging that thing hard getting the new joint in my hip. :vrolijk27:

I agree about mismachined from factory. I used to be machinist for 15 years, if bore is off just a little...at the ends it will be off drastically to one side causing extreme wear to one side. Find a good machine shop to assist you.

I guess it's true when they say if you can't fix your Harley with a hammer, you have an electrical problem!  :nervous:

Before you tear down check and record crank out of roundness. Split cases and clean out debris, replace all bearings and seals...inner and outer cases. Metal can get into very tiny orfices and cause bearing to lock up a new rebuild. Replace rings, lifters and install adjustable pushrods...that way if you want to replace cams later on you will not have to remove rocker boxes or heads. Most importantly...use locktite when torquing bolts to prevent fastners from loosening up while operating. Notice my pic of my flywheel when crank bolt can loose.
