Where Do You Keep Your Registration and Insurance Cards??
« on: October 07, 2013, 09:19:16 PM »

I feel stupid asking this question but I just don't know where to put these things when I don't wear my jacket-I could stuff them in my pockets, but the insurance cards are large (Dairyland Insurance) and the registration is irregular shaped as well.  Any suggestions would be great.  Thanks in advance.

I keep mine in my tourpak pouch. You're never gonna need them unless you are on the bike.

X2 Tourpak pouch. I was knocked out but the State Trouper found them. Could be a problem if you are riding the bike in your avatar without a tourpak.

HD chrome storage tube. They come in 3 sizes. Every chromosexual needs at least one. I got the large one. Holds an extra pair of readers & sunglasses, paperwork, emergency cash, and a few other things.

First I place them in a zip lock bag to keep them dry then place them in my saddlebag.

On the SED it is in a Ziplock under the seat near the battery/ECM.

All these are good ideas, but I don't have any tourpack that I am carrying, no saddlebags.  I do have a backrest bag that I occassionally carry with me, but most of the time is just the bike and that's it.  I could get the storage tubes, but those are over $100.  I thought about a plastic bag under the seat, but thought the heat might melt them?

I only have a nice cool 95 on the SED so I never had any heat problems. :)  Not even a hint of melting the bag.

How about a picture of each in your iphone? (or any other smart phone) I don't believe there is a law stating it has to be on paper. (But I am not sure)

Excellent idea-that is precisely what I will do.  That costs me nothing (assuming it's legal).

Anywhere except on the scooter.   On the scooter is convenient for everything except a theft.  If god forbid, your scooter gets snatched up while on a road trip,  not haveing the registration can be a real issue in the first few hours.
