Mark,

You are right with what you're saying, except I believe the 2014 Limited does come with a CB.

Just sayin'

My mistake.  And I wouldn't bet too much on my summary of differences, anyway!  :-\

$13k premium hit at purchase, but I still think strictly looking at value of upgrades, it's worth it.  I'm not sure one could take the $13k and piece meal a Limited to make it just like a CVO.  On the other hand, the Limited is awesome in it's own right and 13k worth of upgrades would certainly make for one nice bike.

Best Regards,

Mark

I had to chuckle at the description...

"It boosts the displacement of the Twin-Cooled™ High Output Twin Cam 103™ engine to 110 cubic inches and bundles the proven components of the CVO™ exclusive Screamin’ Eagle Twin-Cooled™ Twin Cam 110″ powertrain.".

"Proven components"? In the eighth production year of the 110" engine, I guess they think they have finally got it right...  :nervous:

Yep. At least they addressed the crappy INA cam bearings and (maybe) the lifter issues. Those were the two big 110" must change items in my book.

  • Stand for something, or fall for anything.

Components proven to fail?  Still love my CVO, but might feel differently without ESP.

Assuming an installed price of about $3000, and a rather anemic stock 110 output (this is the stuff that comes with a bone stock CVO), I don't see the point.  Much better idea would be to consult a reputable engine builder and get more performance with better parts for the same money.  Don't forget that this kit requires the entire engine be torn down so the cases can be machined for the new cylinder spigots.  It's not a bolt on kit.

To bad you can't just order the CVO without the motor. That way you could provide yourself with a solid motor from the get go. Instead of spending thousands trying to make right what the MOCO provides. Oh nevermind but sounded good in my little mind.
