Mike, the flap is not an issue at all, as Jorge mentioned.

Have had my Corbin/CUSE seat for about 6 months now and absolutely love it. One tip for buyers - try ordering through your local H-D dealer. I did. Got 10% off list plus free freight. Made it well worth the effort. Going through your dealer also makes problem resolution simple. If you're not completely satisfied, just return it to your local H-D dealer. They have a lot more clout with Corbin than we do as individuals. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

A report of sorts:  This seat was some of the best money I've spent on the bike!!! [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] Over 600 miles in the seat yesterday, with temps from 34 to 50 degrees...my A$$ did not talk to me a single time all day long, and it used to cuss me after 200 miles.  The heat works great...not too hot on high, and you just know it's there on low.  This seat makes makes long days in the saddle a thing of joy rather than misery 'cause you're butt is killing you.  Cannot recommend it highly enough!!!  Now for Wild 1 Chubby's, and everything will be a 100% perfect fit... Don't worry, d00d...I'm just talking ergonomics here...got to get comfortable first, then other things will fall into place (or into the motor).  Hope you're having a good Thanksgiving...probably napping about now after pigging out...

Welcome to the site. Glad to have you with us. To answer your question, it's a matter of feel and fit. It's hard to tell someone to go out and spend $600 for a basic Corbin seat ( I've got a rider backrest, tour-pak backrest, all done up in flames so that's how I got to $1,600 which also included California sales tax and shipping) Anyway, if you've never ridden a Corbin and you sit on someone's two things I can tell you for sure. 1) it's gonna feel hard 2) if it's been in use for awhile it's molded to the owner's butt and that will feel weird too. I was fortunate. My first Corbin came with a used bike I bought so I had the chance to use it and not have to spend big $$. At first I didn't like it because it was shaped to the previous owner, but 500 or so miles later it had reshaped to me and I started liking it. I was sold for good when I did 866 miles with it in one day. No way in hell could I have ridden that much in a day on a stock seat. Corbin says their seats are firm and not hard and that firmness translates into comfort as they miles pile up. I agree, BUT you might be a soft seat person and more inclined to go with a Road Zeppelin or a Mustang, or an H-D Sundowner ( Mustang copy) It's a personal thing and it's going to take some time and money unfortunately before you discover what works best for you.

Good Luck

Ergonomics isn't expensive ?  [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Hmmmmmm let's see $1,600 for a Corbin seat system, $550 for Wild 1 Chubbys ( braided lines and cables) $193 for a custom height Clearview Windshield.  8-)

Big B

Oh Yes...the seat was over 1K and the bars (installing myself) will end up being 400+.  Then I've put extended floorboard supports on, angled highway pegs/clamps.  I think the new handlebars will get everything positioned so it's comfortable for me, then I'll be done with the fitment on the bike.  Oh...Clearview windshield too...already installed and worth it's weight in gold as well.

Spider is right on the Corbin...if you just sit on it or feel it with your hand, you'll think it's awfully hard.  Mines got about 1K on it now and is getting more comfortable.  They say it takes 2K to fully break it in to your butt.  But some people hate them...the problem with the stock seat is that it just totally collapses after a while and you feel like you're sitting on the pan.  One other thing you'll notice about the Corbin...it weighs 2 or 3 times more than a stock seat.

Today was the first time that I went out for a short ride to try the new Corbin seat....it's awesome.....totally different that the stock seat...I liked it so much [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

What I realized that I need is the backrest pad....so the mine got a nose job and consequently I am forward so I need somethiong to rest my back so I will call Corbin to order one (another $200)....regarding the heat option....right now in South Florida is 78 degrees and open skys so I don't need that......waiting for Terry and Suzanne
