Got lucky!
« on: October 16, 2013, 11:44:48 AM »

I traded my '07 SEUC in April of this year for the '13 SEUC. Got a call from the service manager at the dealership yesterday inquiring about any problems I had encountered on the '07. Never had any serious issues, thankfully although I was worried that I might after hearing all the horror stories about the '07 engine. The compensator was replaced and routine maintenance was about all I had done but I had noticed the valve train getting a little noisier. The new owner had it towed in, running on the front cylinder only. They thought it could have something to do with the Thundermax unit but most likely to be a stuck valve caused by a failed lifter. I left the original ECM as well as the maps for the Thundermax with the bike when I traded but have no idea if it was passed along. I hate it for the new owner but glad that repair is not on my dime!

BTW, If the new owner is a member here PM me and I'll tell you all I know about the '07. It was traded to a dealer in Marietta GA.

That sucks for the new owner !! you just never know what you are getting when buying a used bike. I wonder how many miles were on it when traded and how many miles when the problem came up.

I have bought a few used low mileage CVO's (not this one), but I always extend the service plan coverage.
