I know how you feel... Had the same problem with my wife the last time I was away for two months...   :P

Stupid question: you did try with your second FOB, wright?   ???


... Other option: verify the address of that house to make sure it's yours...   ;)


More seriously, I had a problem like that and changed the FOB battery for another defective battery.  Took me a couple of hours to figure that out...

I got the pin changed to something I would remember and wrote in my book to be double safe.

It was a random number as far as I could tell. It didn't match the VIN or any address of any of the 3 dealerships they own Zip or street number.

If I had to guess, I would say I bought a 2 pack of dead batteries from the store. I did have both fobs. I made sure to put them in the same way I took them out so I would be able to flip them again if they didn't work a second time.

I deserve the  :dunce: for putting off changing the pin number!!! Lesson learned.

glad that you got it figured out.  now what you need to do is to practice using your override code a couple of times so that if you ever need to use it (again), you'll be able to knock it out without a lot of hassle

eBay (don't buy from China).  They are usually good for ten years, Sony quality, no problem.

I bought 50 for $8 last year shipping included.  Just verified, you can get 50 from NY for less than $20 plus shipping.  If you search  further, you will find them for less...

Simple advice... At that price, I put new ones every spring.  Don't care if they can last for 5 years, I just can't remember my PIN...   >:(

use something simple for you to remember, first/last 5 of your phone number, first/last 5 of ssn, etc....

I used something I cant forget.....I have used it a couple times to make sure I know the procedure.

I bought my batteries from the grocery store, It sure screwed me because I got so mad I would have sold it if one of my friends offered to buy it.

batterybob.com ships from FL and they're brand name batteries. Free shipping conus, usually 5% off coupon codes on the net. He's even got conversions for oddball numbers. My Ride-On TPMS caps died and had a weird battery number. Ride-On wants to charge you $8 per unit plus return shipping to change the batteries. I did it myself and have enough batteries left to do each one two more times all for $5.65

On another note, I keep a piece of cellophane separating the battery from the contact on my spare fob. This way you're not wasting away another battery every year.
