Dave sounds like a great ride except the Atlanta part. Yeah Atlanta is my home town but, but it ain't the Atlanta I grew up in anymore. Most of my family is gone so no need to get back to Atlanta. And yes like you Dave, when I'm traveling I do my best to avoid Atlanta if possible.

Atlanta is much worse traffic post COVID.  Going to FL from East TN its hard to avoid Atlanta unless you do back roads and that adds time. Going to the Pan Handle Atlanta is easily avoided.

Added new Khromewerks 2+2 sweeper handlebars to the 2019 CVO.
After a couple of minor adjustments took a multi-day ride to AZ.
Much more comfortable than the stock bars!

New battery for the 2019 CVO.

Replaced the OEM battery after 97k miles and 5 years. Not bad and never on a battery tender.
Load test on the old battery showed marginal loss. It was slow starting on cold mornings, and time to replace it.

I had a gift certificate from the dealer that covered the new battery.

Wow that is pretty good for a battery especially never on a tender.  Cool you had a certificate that covered the cost.

Took a short 100 mile ride to the foothills with my friend on his new CVO ST.
He’s got 900 miles on it and gingerly opening the throttle a little at a time.
He says he’s scared it will pop massive wheelies if he twists too much!

He’s that kind of joker!

He opened it up on a long uphill with a headwind, bike runs pretty good for stock and he’s going to leave it that way.
Good choice.
My 124 will still reel him in no problem and we talked about the weight difference.
His ST is about 63 lbs lighter than mine (2019 CVO limited), but he’s about 150 lbs heavier than me, so, no contest there! LOL

Overall, he likes the bike and is shopping for a seat now (he’s about 6’6 and 300+ lbs)
Any suggestions?

I have purchased Mustang and Corbin in the past.  I much prefer the Corbin.  That said if you do not like a hard seat Corbin is not the Choice.  Its Hard, but after about 1000 miles it breaks in to your butt.  I can do 1000 mile days on it.

I much prefer my Corbin on my other bike,  have a LaPera on the SG and it is just ok.
My 2019 has the stock seat and it works fine for me.

I think he’s looking at Mustang! Good choice for him IMO.

Yep, I put 64,000 miles on my 2019 Stock CVO seat.  Wasn't great but wasn't bad either.

When for a nice 102 mile ride yesterday.

We had a friend fly in from Houston yesterday so we decided to take a ride today for lunch in the backcountry.

He has a bike he leaves here and 2 in Houston.

Left here at 8:30, home at 2:30 and a wonderful ride on the back roads.
About 60-75 degrees today, clear sky, no winds, few cars.

Perfect Sunday for my buddy.

Sorry, no pictures! LOL

Sunday rode 64 miles.  Nice cold day, high of 39.  It was for a friends wife's celebration of Life.  Monday night she was killed in a head on collision in her car.  The guy in a truck swerved to miss a deer, he was life flighted, and will lose his  leg.  My wife and her were  Women  in the Wind together.  Her husband  and I were in the same MC..  Over 100 bikes at the celebration of  life.

39° is cold as chit for this florida boy. But for a great cause. God bless your friends and sorry for your loss.

RIP, so sorry.
