Siren 2 upgrade
« on: November 05, 2006, 07:18:07 PM »

I see that some of you have upgraded to the new siren 2. Is this just a simple unplug the old and plug in the new one?
Will my key fobs work with the siren 2. Like the idea of having a small pager. Is the new set up better than the one that came on the 05 SEEG?

Thanks iamtrker2

The only thing you're changing (but must change) on the bike is the siren module.  The SirenII module works as transceiver for the remote warning fob you'll keep with you.  The alarm function of your bike itself isn't changed.  You're just adding the capability for a remote warning fob.

It's really simple to make the change...just unplug the old one and plug the new one in, route the transmitter antenna wire along the frame, clamp it between two pieces of velcro (provided), stick the side cover back on, and let the fob and pager "find" the new Siren.  If you have two or more HD's, the one pager will work with all of them, but not all at the same time.  If you're on another bike, just repeat the process of allowing the pager to find the different transmitter and you're good to go!!  Gives you a little peace of mind!!
