Rear tire how wide

Can anyone tell me what is the widest rear tire can I install on my 2008 cvo ultra

I am running a 150/70 - 18 in the rear on my 2006 CVO Ultra.  It fits with no problem.

Do you plan on changing the wheel, or are you planning to stick with the 3.0" wide stocker?  That is just as important to your question as the clearance of the tire to the hard parts of the bike.  Check the tire company websites for recommended rim widths for the tires you are considering.

I did change the rear wheel to a 18 x 4.25 rim.  Sorry, I was not thinking about the maximum width tire for the stock 16 inch rear wheel.

Metzler is a great source for what will fit on a particular bike.They helped me on my last bike.

I just put a 200/50 r 18 Dunlop Elite 3 on my 2012 CVO RoadGlide and love it.

Glad you like it, but the 2008 model in the original post doesn't have the same frame, swingarm, wheel, etc. that your 2012 has, and the tire fitment is totally different.
