Diva, it's been a couple hours since your last post, so we're looking for a cuss word/Modelo count here.

Brian,
Is this quoted from the RH instructions or the Modelo warning?

OK, guys....got the RH's installed after only three Modelo's, but that's only because I quit when I knew I was ahead.  Had to make a run to Lowes for some of the red silicone they suggest in the instructions, plus a man's got to eat sometime and not just have  [smiley=drink.gif] [smiley=drink.gif] [smiley=drink.gif]  Like most exhaust system removal/installations (2 or 4 wheels) it was aggravating, and did involve a good amount of cussing and frustration.  The RH's are high quality, and the instructions are good, though a couple of the pics they provide could be a little clearer regarding heat shield clamp orientation.  No problems though.  I didn't finish until two in the morning, by the time I got them all wiped down after finishing and a coat of Glare on all the new shiney parts.  Probably the most aggraving couple of things was gettng the front heat shield clamps on and started, and fit of the mufflers to the headers is so snug they had to be pursuaded with a block of soft wood on the ends and a ball peen hammer.  They'll go right on then... ;)

The pipes look GREAT on the scoot, and sound even better!!! [smiley=banana.gif] [smiley=banana.gif]  I dumped a canned map I got from fuel moto into the PCIII, fired it up this morning and ran 45 miles North to a tuner/performance shop I've finally found.  It was running rich, but running strong and sounding even better.  On the way up, two bolts on my A/C broke off, so the guys at Rod's Performance had to  back one of the remnants out with vice grips, then drill and use an ease-out on the other one.  Another one chalked up to HD service overtightening the bolts.  Rod tuned the bike...he has a great dyno set-up, with a specially designed room with 6 air changes a minute so everything remains constant and there is a lot of fresh air to keep the bike cool (also uses fans on the motor).  He did an advanced tune with the Dynojet TL software, one cylinder at at time.  The target A/F ratio was 13.4, steady throttle, so it vairies a couple of tenths, depending on load/throttle postition.  I was in the room the whole time, so watched the entire process, and Rod was great about explaining what was going on and showing me the data as it was happening.

Final numbers are about what I expected: 98.4 Max Torque....75 at 2.5K, then climbing steadily, with no dips to 3600, then hitting the 98 mark and staying there to 4.5K, tapering off gradually to about 85ft lbs at 5800.  HP is 95.6 at 5800, with just basically a steady climb from 2.5K all the way up.  I'll try and get a flatbed scan of the sheet, if I can figure out how to use my flatbed again.

I'm really happy with the pipes, the way they sound, and the way the bike drives now that it's finally been properly tuned.  I'm tired and sore from being on the basement floor all night, I think I'll take Diva out to dinner and a couple of Magahooties....

TC,
Glad to hear things went well.  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] Look forward to the pics. The torque and HP numbers sound pretty good too.

Hey, Terry, tried calling you an hour or so ago to see WTF was going on!  Glad to hear you got the pipes installed and the motor tuned to your satisfaction!  IMHO, nothin' sounds better on one of these strokers than a set of Rinehart true duals!

Your numbers are about what any bike with the stock cams/heads will run.  Now, just wait until next Xmas when you get those Zipper's 575s installed!  Whoo-hoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]

In the meantime, you and Suzanne enjoy those well-deserved Margahooties!!!  [smiley=drink.gif] [smiley=drink.gif] [smiley=drink.gif] [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]

TC,
Congrats on getting the Rineharts on. The thought of being on the cold basement floor just makes my "Arthri" tighten up that much more. :o. Glad you got everything taken care of and are happy w/the results. Enjoy your evening out, you deserve it. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Yea, Gary...I'm all stove up today and I don't even have arthur....I wore my body out in my younger years working on cars, carpet/tile, then HVAC for a lot of years, so crawling around on the floor takes a bit of a toll on me the next day.

But, it was all worth it, and I know they were installed correctly.  Love the sound!!!
