I used to toggle my hi/lo twice until one day I discovered occasionly there is a 4/5 sec delay. Started waiting and it worked every time. Might not be your problem, just wanted you to be aware.

Also, it works from quite a distance.  So due to the delay, I usually flip the switch while still on the road, and by the time a ride up the driveway the door is open ready for my entrance.

"I have looked in the HD catalogue and they don't seem to have any windshield bags for bikes with the padded dash. Any suggestions for a good windshield bag that will work on my 09. Thanks CAHDBIKER"

:-\  When you mention padded dash and windshield bags........assuming you have an SE Ultra,  I may have a set for you.

I don't have time to go and get the part number cause getting ready to leave for golf course.  However,  I just sold my '09 SE Ultra Classic and I did have a set of (3) windshield bags on it and they fit perfectly.  That set cost $110 new and I saw no good reason to let the set go with the bike.  I took that set off along with my center stand and other stuff to sell separately.

My only hesitation to sell the bags at this point is the possibility that I might "modify" the set to use on my new Street Glide.  The Glide (2014) has that new air scoop on the front of the fairing and the air exits on top of the dash behind the windshield.   The concept does indeed work to minimize air turbulence as advertised.   A set of three bags (made for the S. glide would "block" that air flow..............not good (bags I have do NOT fit the S.G.)

Was thinking of eliminating the middle bag and making the remaining left and right bags fit up there thus leaving the middle portion open for the air flow.   Not sure this will work..............gotta take another look at it. :nixweiss:
