« on: November 21, 2013, 06:54:52 PM »

Hey there, I was wondering, besides  Screaming Eagle who ells make's a throttle by wire 58 MM TB? And injectors.  Who makes the best one? And who makes the best 58 MM intake. Preferably a billet one?  Thanx for the info.

So these guy's make their own TB'S, and will take your OEM one and bore it out.  Which rout is better in your opinion?  And what size injectors would I need.

I use their billet throttle body (cable drive, not TBW)...

Injector size depends on the rest of your motor.  You can describe your motor to them and they can recommend injector size...

On a DBW they take your electric servo and install it in there TB unit. S&S does this also. If you want a bored stock unit, it has to be a pre 2010 stock unit. It is a larger casting and it gets bored to 54mm.

S&S also makes a good throttle body also.  In 58-62-70

Own several of both throttle bodies.  My vote is for the S&S over the HPI.

S&S also significantly less expensive.

With the S&S, do you send them your stock one so they can use the electrical guts out of it? Or, do they sell the complete TB? Also what is a standard Injector one upgrades to from a stock one. Cheers.

S&S FBW.... Send your TB in, and they'll swap the needed parts after testing your core.

John answered you correctly they take the guts out of your stock one and put them into their throttle body.   I went with 5.89 injectors.   Your build/headwork will be the part that decides what injectors are needed.  I would consult the person do the work.

Hey there, just want to raise this thread from the dead for a second. So my 110 was bored out to a 113, 10:5:1 compression with SE flat tops, fully ported heads with larger intake valve, and S&S 585 cams.  right now making 112/120 what size throttle body should I go for? what would make better power across the rpm range. A 58 mm or a 55 mm and what injectors.  I am going with the HPI unit. Cheers.

I would suggest their 55/58.  I have seen 135 plus with that combo several times.

You mean they make the TB out two separate parts that are different size? which part is bigger? The part that bolts to the air cleaner or the back part that goes to the cylinders?   Can you explain. Cheers.

The 55 is the throttle body and will accept any air cleaner that fits stock.   The 58 is the manifold.  Question that should be asked with throttle body size is port size.   That's the opening of the intake port and manifold. They should match.  And there is no reason to have a 62 or 58 throttle body and a 1.6 port size.
