2011 FLHTCUSE6 110" Which cam
« on: November 22, 2013, 02:21:37 PM »

As I read the info on the 110, (which I recently Purchased ) it appears obvious that I would be prudent to change out the lifters to S&S. I do plan to do this. After riding the bike a bit, I am OK with the power but would not mind a little more. My other CVO (05SEEG 103 ,115hp 124tq ) would absolutely spank the new one in a heads up run. I have seen some very impressive numbers with just a exhaust and cam change, The bike has Bub exhaust (including headpipes) and a power commander already.   For a little more money and work, I feel some bigger bumpsticks are in order.  Which one is the question.  Any input would be appreciated.

You'll need a piston, or you'd need to have the heads cc'd and surfaced.

Performance wise what is the difference between these two cams assuming both are set up correctly? Reason being I have both.

Both will strike near the same and the 408 would spool more hp.

I am not really looking to build a hot rod  I have one of those and that is why I purchased this bike.. My SEEG is pretty hot and I wanted something a little more touring friendly.  I just thought with the lifters and inner cam bearings being the weak link and the easy way in is to cut the pushrods and install adjustables,  Cam has to come out to do the bearings, so why not add a little fun with the cams.   I guess my question is which cam if I am only doing cam lifters and tune with no headwork or pistons.  There will be time and money for that when the motor gets tired.

The cam I suggested while making respectable power is nowhere near what anyone would call a hotrod cam.

Unlike the T-man and especially the woods the cam is also damn near as quiet as stock and moreso with a set of beehive springs......should be done anyhow as there is no need for a large diameter dual spring

If someone has a dyno sheet that shows more average power than the majority of the 24D builds im all ears.

Torque,
I have had some interest in the 24D cam as my bike is now set up with the SE 10.5 piston, 58mm TB, with the SE 260 cam. If I made a cam swap to the 24D with these pistons do you have a idea of about where the CCP would end up? Do you have any idea what the CCP was on the motor from the dyno sheet?

I went with the S&S 585 gear dive cam and 10-5 comp. pistons. I am very happy with the combo. also added a few other goodies but all in all very pleased.

Sorry David I was out of town at a trade show and left my laptop home

IRR the ccp on that bike was right around 195 or maybe a tick more,I believe you will be over 200.

I am also not 100% sure that the 110  10.5-1 pistons aren't a little more than that.
