« on: November 10, 2006, 05:09:25 PM »

:-[ :-[I bought a 07 dyna screaming eagle with the 110cc engine. the rear shock started leaking the first day i rode bike. The New Orleans dealer put some different shocks on untill the ones that came with it comes in. I still am waiting no shocks. Then my bike started sounding really bad when you start bike a real loud noise coming from the primary i am told.I contacted Harley corporate office and was told this loud sound is not an issue well it is an issue to me because it sounds like bike is falling apart. Has anyone else had these same problems i would really like to know

Don,

TT258 is what H-D calls a "Tech Tip", as opposed to a Service Bulletin.

Jerry
Thanks for the info. The way I understand the bulletin they just shut off the fuel to the rear cylinder when those conditions are present. I am going to have to think on this one.
I also really like and enjoy my new bike. I miss all the lighting I had on my 01 Ultra but an slowly getting that fixed. If we could get the heat down I would feel a lot better. I have my priorities screwed up- improve lighting, reduce heat then OCD. I am sure the dOOd will come on and help me with my thinking.

Jerry:

Have you been directly involved with any '07 bikes that have had the EITMS activated; and if so, have the owner's reported a reduction in excessive heat?

Thanks,

Ben

Your right Jerry, but at .2 labor hours, I think I can get my dealer to do this for nothing while it is there for something else. That is if I had a 110! [smiley=nixweiss.gif] ;D

Ben - I haven't run across anyone with an '07 that had it activated yet, so I guess the jury is still out on how much this helps.

Ben,

The bad part is that the engine temp sensor is located in the front cylinder head, so by the time the front hits 300

Yea - when stopped these air cooled bikes don't like it.  Remember - no air going over that oil cooler and your screwed...

Parade Fans anyone?
