Over doing it??
« on: November 11, 2006, 10:59:53 AM »

Ive noticed lately, and it first happened in Reno when we were coming back from SJDukes house, we ( the cali crew) were all at a stop light and had split the cars to get to the front, we all punched it off the line, well, at least a few of us did, and as my rpm's got real high in 2nd, it cut out on me, but as soon as the rpm's came down a little, it was fine. A hesitation sort of thing, but diffently lost power for a split second, is this some sort of safety valve for the engine?, and is normal?, Its been happening a lot, mainly cause I have been riding while having anger management issues lately.

Mike, you are hitting the rev limiter built into the ECM program.  Depending on what kind of fuel management system you have on the bike (SERT, etc) this could be as high as 6200 RPM, but is probably less, around 5800.

TC is probably right. But... not good to be riding while working on anger management [smiley=nervous.gif]. (You've probably been told that already!)  Ride safe, keep your wits about you.

Its take just the right balance of throttle and clutch release, Get a rolling start... it helps [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]

Another way to make it much easier is a little cam swap 8-)

Rob,

I believe the rev limiter is set at 5800 on the "A" engines, and 5500 on the "B" engines due to the balance mechanism.

Gee maybe if you took the training wheels off and let the back tire on the ground it wouldn't rev that high? [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]

Seriously that is a nice stable of bikes you have there! [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]
I have seen nothing but good reviews of that Kawasaki.
I'm sure it's a whole different ride from your SEEG. 8-)
