I have used the RAM Mount combined with mount that Sadunbar uses.

Looking at sadunbar photos I like the position of the camera more in front of the lower fairing. When I am in Phoenix will look at repositioning mine.

OK, Don...took me a minute or two to find it, but here are some photos:  First one is all the parts separated.

This one shows the bottom of the quick release mechanism.  There is a lever that locks the plate onto the mount and the brass pin you see is mashed down when the plate is in the mount...this allows the lever to move to the right and locks it all in via a cam type action.  The small brass lever you see allows you to lock the lever so it will not accidentally be opened.  The plate that mounts to the camera is much like a Kirk plate, or Really Right Stuff in that the bottom is tapered upward...like a Arca Swiss ballhead, if you are familiar with them.  It can't come out once the lever is locked down into position.  The plate, as seen in the other photos, has a rubber mat to avoid the camera moving laterally.  The whole thing, when it's put together, is infinitely adjustable.

All put together...once you get it adjusted in place and tighten down on the butterfly knob on the RAM arm, it will NOT move.  The two balls are rubber coated steel.  Sorry for the picture quality, but these are just quick snaps.

One more...different angle of the mount for the camera plate.

It's pretty neat...I mounted a handycam to it and it never budged once tightened down, and the convenience of being able to quickly remove the camera, with plate intact, was a good thing when you just wanted to take the camera off without disturbing the positioning of the arm.

If you have any questions, post them, or give me a call: 205-541-4850.  I'm about to head out for a couple of brews at the ONLY place in this godforsaken town I'm living in where you don't have to carry a Glock in with you...

We'll work something out if you want it...

Enjoy the beverage!

Standard ball mount stuff with the tripod adapter.  TC, I'm pretty sure I've got all that, potentially in spares, from the various GPS mounts over the years.  Only thing I don't have is the tripod adapter.  Need to dig through my own spares and other crap just to make sure what's here.  Thanks.

I tried many different locations.
The windshield, the fairing, the fork, everything I tried vibrated a lot.
I should have listened to sadunbar and naitram and did the mount on the crashbar to start with.
The most important thing I learned was it had to be sturdy.
What I used to mount the GoPro case was a highway peg mount. (you don't get much sturdier than that)
It works great and no vibration.
On the scooters I just mount the camera to the helmet.
For that application enough body fat tends to cancel out vibration.

Have a few different ball mount pieces, some spare peg mount parts, and a few other bits and pieces scattered around.  When the camera is actually in hand will sort it and get it played with a bit.

Does the camera have that hard shell case in the box or is that an accessory also?
