« on: December 16, 2013, 07:36:46 PM »

I have 2012 cvo rg with gmr genesis 577 cams 030 head gaskets s&s premium lifters with gmr adjustable pushrods. fullsac DX pipe with 2.25 fullsac baffles with screens. wondering about changing throttle body to a 58 ? what would be best bang for the buck ? also may have heads cut to raise compression. I have tts mastertune. bike has 38.5K miles

FuelMoto told me that neither the stock TB or the stock injectors are stressed at 110ci.

I did have my stock TB polished though

Horsepower Inc. makes good stuff and are very knowledgeable. They make a full line of TB's and should be able to advise the best for your application.

Kc, why don't you just call Steve at GMR about the 58tb as I saw a post today about that cam and TB with a dyno sheet. I'm sure he can help you :2vrolijk_21:

For a throttle by wire, without a doubt the S&S throttle hog is the best option IMO. It flows big air and its much les expensive than the HPI's. If you were doing cable drive, HPI is the ticket.

The low cost item would be the S&S 58 however you have to ship for that the next step and cost about the same a SE 58 with all new parts already to go. On that build there is no real upside one way or the other. We have in stock the S&S 58 and the HPI 55 & HPI 58 eliptical as well. All will get the job done. At some point there is a better unit but for the most part not enough to stress over for a 110 or even a 113 build. HPI is by far the nicest unit, and a full finished product.

Running the HPI 55 on mine with 5.3 injectors.  Compression is 10.8, heads were ported and polished by Dewey's a vendor here.  SE-259E cam.  Just over 121 torque and HP, rides great, smooth no flat spots, good low torque.  Tuned by Doc, another vendor here.

HPI is worth it.

We sure have used a TON of HPI units here.
They always seem to deliver the goods. :2vrolijk_21:

Picked up an '08 TB sent to HPI, made it 53 for $ 300 I think it was , dropped a set of 5.37 SE injectors, works very well for both performance and Harley warranty ,if that's an issue

Nothing wrong with the S&S either!

Two Best units, one a little less money
