You all have inspired me to spend even more money on "that damn bike", as my wife calls it. I would like to change out the bars to something like the Mayhem Baggers 12" which would keep from having to lengthen everything and trying to get an idea of what labor costs would be. I am not willing to take this on myself, it will cost me double! I have a few independents around me just not to sure how much experience they have with CVO bikes so I may have the dealer do the swap. Let me know what you paid if you had someone else do it. If not changing brake or hydro clutch lines the labor should be 3-4 hours or less. Some bars are more of a bitch to get the wiring through than others. If you need new brake and clutch lines you will be at 6+ hours or so, depending on if just the upper abs line or entire front brake line is replaced. If you choose an Indy route be sure they have the special tools required to bleed the abs system.

I'm in Canada and my best friend is the service manager of the local HD dealer. Prices usually range between 350-450 here on a RG /SG not sure where your at but I'm pretty sure it's the same most places

I installed the Mayhem 14" apes on my CVO RG Custom and used the stock cables.  Saved me about $500.

What year bike? Did you have to lengthen any cables or could you use stock?

I put Wild Ones WO502 12.5 apes on my '11 SERGU, and didn't have to change brake or clutch line--just re-routed clutch line.  Didn't need wire extensions either.

To save money, I took the handlebars off the bike, with wires still in the bars, and took that to dealer to have them remove the wiring and install in new bars.  They charged 1.5 hours labor; well worth it to me.  Then I installed the new bars.  Saved me about $300 dollars.
