Buy the 2010, and switch all the parts from the beat up one to make it perfect for you again.  Great idea to wait a bit before buying the new version. Another option is to buy out the damaged bike from the insurance company.  My bud did that with his street glide. Company did not brand the bike and he got it back for $12000, after a pay out of $24,000. Needed a $3,000 paint job and a few chrome dudads to make it mint again. so he got a un branded bike back to mint and made around $8,000 after it was all said and done.  That is what I would try. If the company brands the bike, then forget about buying it back. Cheers.
This is a very valid point, branded titles kill the value and some insurance companies refuse to insure them.

Have you ridden a 14 model yet ? That might make a big difference in your decision.

A 6" x 3/4" piece of rebar came bouncing down the road and went under my 2011 FLTRUSE, bent the rear crossmember and put a hole in the oil pan. Since it's a CVO and worth so much, it wasn't totaled, they installed a new frame and oil pan with all the seals and parts needed for the replacement. It took about 3 months to get it back with everything working properly but I do have my bike and it seems just as good as the original. My insurance took care of the whole thing and I'm on the road again.

Another thing to consider is buying a HD warranty on the 2010 CVO so that you have some protection against major issues that might crop up. HD will do a inspection first which you could maybe get the seller to agree on doing whatever repairs are needed. If the HD warranty was not an option I would go the 2014 Limited route.  Yes we are having some issues with the new bike but hopefully MOCO will figure them out.  I love the bike even with its issues, ask me again in a yr after HD has not corrected the issues and you might get a different answer.

Having owned a '10 and '11 limited, and now a '14 CVO limited.  I would say hands down go for the '14 limited.  Even with the issues you may have, you will love the '14 so much more. Something I always ask myself is if someone would offer either bike to me for FREE, which one would I take?  Good luck in your decision and glad you survived your accident.

I have ridden both the Ultra & Ultra Limited, not the CVO (can't seem to find one that's not sold that a dealer is willing to take it for a test drive.
I'm very strongly leaning towards a 2014 Ultra Limited, as in its stock form the power feels close to what Doc did to my 110 with a Ful-Sak header, reinhardts and air filter and tune with a TTS, I can only imagine how much more he can pull out of the new hi-output twin cooled with a 103 by doing the same work as he did to my 110 (MSRP $28,999 plus $435 freight).
I'm trying to make a deal with a dealer where they will swap the stock chrome/Black wheels for the Mirror Chrome CVO ones and have chrome forks, clutch & break master cylenders and switch housings etc., all chromed out. They are willing to negoate, I offered $26,000 total plus sales tax & DMV fee's, they tried to get me to $28,000, then $27,000, I'm gonna try to split the difference on that and go &26,500 (that's like paying MSRP plus freight and getting the wheel swap, forks and everthing on the Handlebars chromed for free, I don't think I'm gonna do any better.
They want to sell me the ESP, but I'm gonna try to have them match the best price I can find, if they go for it and buy the bike and all from them.
Since this is the 2nd hit on my 2010 CVO Ultra, I'm not comfortable with it any longer, I'm hoping the Ins co will total it, and ill make some money as the book on it is between $30k-$32k (mint condition with only 8k miles plus I have $20k in additional coverage on it, but if they don't, I'll either sell it or trade it in but in done with that bike.

If anyone knows where I might be able to get a better deal or good price on the ESP, please let me know.
Thanks,
Lance

Here it is, my new baby.
I can't wait to see it with the Chizel Mirror Crome wheels and polished rotors, chrome forks and everything on the handlebars (both master cyl's break & clutch) and controll housings and levers.
Close to a CVO, but not as much bling (yet), and the 2014 103 motor has higher compression than the 110, 10.0:1 (for the 103) vs. 9.2:1  (for the 110) the new 103 seems just as powerful as my Doc tuned 110, I'm exicited to see what magic he can pull out if this one.
Hope this picture posts.
Can't wait to hit the catologue.

Dash panel, I dident see any glare in the Guages maybe its the carbon fiber around the Guages on the CVO, that causing it.

You are going to love your new 14 Limited. I went from a 07 SE Ultra to a 14 ultra Limited and love it. If you wish; you can ad the CVO dash trim along with the CVO tank panel trim for a reasonable price. Since the filler neck was replaced on my bike have not had a single issue. I am in California so I have continued riding.

Congratulations
Scott
