Fuel Moto
« on: December 28, 2013, 08:44:40 PM »

Well I cashed in my online poker winnings and got me a check for 500.00! I ordered a set of Jackpot Dyno Tuned 4" chrome mufflers along with a Fuel Moto Micro EFI Tuner. This will go on my completely stock and really good running 2013 Road King CVO.

I've read good things about this set up and will report on how I like this set up in the next month. So far they have answered all my questions and a real person answers the phone when called. :2vrolijk_21:

The 4" Jackpots are a great-sounding muffler; I don't think there's a better one out there.

Enjoy!

Snapper,
I was impressed with the setup... Did the XXX headpipe, X-over, and 4" DynoTuned mufflers. Map was spot on, no misfires, idles better. etc...

Good luck...

Thought about changing the headers out but the people at Fuel Moto said the slip-ons were dyno'd tested with the stock set up. Really just want a better sound than stock and maybe a little better throttle response. Anything above that is gravy.

I got a set 4" Jack Pots I'd trade for some Fat Shotz. (less than a 1000 miles on them.)

That's the route I went.  I loved the 4" Jackpots on my FLHTK, but on the 110 they're just too loud for me.  I'm quite happy with the Fatshotz (15 discs, closed caps), but truthfully if I could find something that was quieter and flowed as well, I'd try that too.

Closed end cap is going to be very low noise. I am not sure you will get that any lower....  Maybe the Crusher mellow mufflers  We have tested the DB level on pipes using a smart phone. I am aware that the DB meter that way is not super accurate however I started with a stock bike for a base and went from there. I have not tested the Fatshotz if you can download a app to your phone I could test a 124 that we have here with mufflers to see where it is sitting .. Larger CI tend in increase sound as well.

Yeah, I've got a sound meter app (can't remember which one).  I tested the bike last fall from 20 feet back at about a 45 degree angle and measured (IIRC) 91db.  That ain't bad at all.

The problem I have this time of year is the resonance in my FF helmet at cruise.  Probably not much to be done there.

Ok, I wanted to put this set up on sooner but life got in the way. Anyway, I found the Fuel Moto Micro Tuner was pretty easy to install if you follow the instructions. The new tuned mufflers went on as expected and really look good. Started it up and the sound was exactly what I was looking for. Bike runs that much better also. All and all, I'm pretty happy with the set up and the price was right for sure. Thanks Fuel Moto.

Russ;  Resonance is one of the main reasons why I never wear anything but a half helmet year round.

Just took it on a 600 mile trip. What a difference this setup makes. Can't be happier with the sound and the performance. Hats off to the people at Fuel Moto! :carrot:
