What is your choice of beverage be for New Year's Eve?
« on: December 31, 2013, 07:08:23 PM »

I'm trying to decide between Tequila, Jack, Crown, Chivas, Beer, Rum, or Vodka.  (No Gin.)
Maybe shots and beer.  I don't know.
A couple bottles of bubbly to share with friends at midnight.
-Staying overnight at the party 'cause I don't want to start the new year with a DUI.
The fuzz are out for blood and they are going to have to suck someone else's blood tonight.

I don't drink any more
-don't drink any less.

Remember, you only have one gizzard, so drink top shelf! :2vrolijk_21:

 :-\

Being over 70,  and having "been there and done that"...........I would suggest sticking to mostly one type for the night.

While my typical evening suggests (always) a beer or two or three,  it is many times accompanied by a cocktail........Manhattan or Martini...

This could be followed by a glass of red wine.  I can validate that this can be done without a headache or hangover the next day if a good meal was had during the process.

However,  someone offers a shot of this (Tequila) or a shot of that (Gin) or many other choices including Champagne,  Yeagermister (or however you spell it) and/or some "shine",  etc..................

:nixweiss:  Then,  you might well enjoy a great New Years Eve celebration,  but the next day,  you may well regret the whole deal...................Don
t  ask me how I know that. :(

Drink top shelf, drink as much as your stomach will tolerate, if drinking alcohol based on/mainly containing sugar don't add soft drink (with additional sugar) as a mixer... and before you go to bed drink the biggest glass or as much water as you can tolerate along with taking two aspirin. You should wake up in the morning w/o a hangover. :2vrolijk_21:

Ice water with a lemon wedge. Haven't had a drop of alcohol since July 2012. Never thought life could be so clear. Happy New Years all and please be careful!  :soapbox:  :coolblue:  :2vrolijk_09:

Congrats Jswerve. My anniversary date is 10 16 11. After proving to myself and my family I could not drink all the vodka Russia could make, I have enjoyed 26 months of sobriety. Diet Pepsi for me tonight.

Diet Pepsi here, as well.  Got some Wathen's Single Barrell cued up for a toast at midnight, however. :)

Couple of Samuel Adams Boston Lagers for me. Maybe I'll even make it past 11:00 this year. :)

Couple of Flying Dog K-9s, now settled. On with an Eagle Rare and a Cohiba.

Sent from my iPad, probably while I'm pooping.
