HAT 6.5 Image series
« on: January 10, 2014, 06:32:43 PM »

OK,
I was so excited when the wife gave me $$ for the HAT Image speakers that I went online and ordered them immediately. What I forgot to check was if both the fairing and speakers in the backrest are 6.5"!!!!! The speakers just arrived today, can someone clue me in if the 6.5" are a direct swap or do I need spacers for front and/or back?

Thanks

I think fairings are 5 1/4."  No problem to use 6 1/2" with the adaptor rings.  Wait, your wife gave you money to buy speakers for your bike?  That's awesome.

She rides her own '13 Sportster '48. She gets it!  8). I need to check the box, just wondering if the adapter rings come with the speakers or do I get them from Harley or the audio shop where I bought the soeakers?

She sounds like a keeper!  I'd guess that Hybrid Audio sells these as an accessory to the speaker or from wherever you bought them.  Just read on one of the posts today on this site that someone put in 7 1/2" speakers in the fairing...jeesh.

You will need adapter ring for the front, but not the rear.  :2vrolijk_21:

Rears are 5.25 and do not have much depth available.
