Was that a real ad?

Agree or not, the NFL, having "corporate personhood", is free to choose which advertisements it will run during the Super Bowl.  They have that First Amendment right.  If enough people are upset by the NFL's choice to not run this ad, we have the First Amendment right to make our feelings known to the NFL.

I think the NFL is desperate to avoid any controversial topic during their big show.  Frankly, an ad like that during the Super Bowl would probably get a big negative reaction.  Everything during the SB is blown out of proportion.  Remember Janet Jackson's booby getting a hundredth of a second of exposure?  I thought people's heads were going to explode.

AFAIK it is a real ad. I agree with you completely, but I also wholeheartedly agree with the commentary. I don't for a second think they would allow this to air because of the flack they'd receive, but the messages they do send by not doing anything is appalling to me. JMO

Thought it was an interesting ad to share. As for the validity I heard it first on O&A, they usually find out if something is bravo sierra before they put it on the air.

The ad was real and the NFL denied it primarily because of the image of an AR-15 at the end. Daniel Defense offered to remove the gun image and replace it with an American flag but was still denied.

This was the first time I had seen the commentary, couldn't agree more with what was said but would add a few things. Primarily, I have a problem with the NFL's subliminal endorsement of a lifestyle that encourages abuse of women, drugs, alcohol, and perpetuates violent crime through the misuse of firearms. Ironically, I think Daniel Defense has garnered more positive attention from this controversy than they would have with the airing of the ad during the Super Bowl. Compared to the hundreds of millions of dollars spent by other advertisers, the DD ad, even though it has a powerful message, lacks the attention grabbing cleavage of a Go Daddy ad or the epic stupidity often characterized by a beer swilling sports fan.  Seems the NFL ad council has become another propaganda arm.
