Boom Audio Installation
« on: January 25, 2014, 11:11:47 AM »

I am helping a friend install a used boom audio and Ipod interface on his 2010 Ultra. He bought them used and we have no installation instructions. Most of it is pretty straight forward but there are 6 wires that have no plugs on them and I have no clue where they go.

Does anyone happen to have the installation instructions and be willing to share them?

Thanks

You can download the instructions from the Harley web site. Click on More Information when you see the items you have.

I must be blind Jim! I looked there before I posted here and all I get under more info is the fitment guide.

I went to shop then put in the bike year and model then selected the kit that he purchased. I must be doing something wrong because I believe you that it is there but I cannot find it!

Ok I found them just where you said for the Ipod interface but not the amp and 4 speaker kit! But someone else says they have the amp installation instructions and are going to email them to me!

Thanks for all the help!

I did not search for the kit you have because I do not know the part number. Usually the instructions are under more information. Sometime doing a search for installation instruction for the part number will bring it up on a google search.

Your set to go as someone is going to email them to you.

#76000051 is the kit he supposedly has purchased.

It did not come in a box so it might not be that kit but it does have 4 speakers and an amp that say Harley boom on them so I guess maybe it is what they say it is!

Thanks again for the help!

Ok someone was nice and sent me installation instructions, unfortunately they were for a different kit, fairing mounted amp not tour pack mounted amp. So I am still looking for the instructions if anyone has them.

the kit I have is 76000051 Boom Audio ultra kit

You are correct I can not find the instructions for this model number online.

You said there are 6 single wires with no plug. Are these wires attached to the IPod controller?

Maybe you can post a few pictures and be more specific on the questions you have. Someone may be. Able to help by looking at the pictures and knowing exactly what the question is.

Jim

Thanks for the reply. I have the instructions for the Ipod interface and figured out where those wires go.

On the amp though I am not certain how the amp mounts under the tour pack or does it bolt directly to the tour pack. Also on the amp wiring there are 2 wires with no connector that I am guessing will plug into the big 35 pin radio connector but I do not know which ports!

Those are my questions I guess. Does the amp mount directly to the tour pack or does it mount to the tour pack mounting hardware?

Where do the 2 wires that do not have a plug on them go?

Thanks again!

Are the wires colors,

 yellow/orange & yellow/violet?

The amp should mount under the tour pack, usually the amp uses the 4 bolts that hold the tour pack onto the tour pack mount. See if the bolt holes on the amp you have lines up with these bolts.

Jim

Yes that is the color of them! I am pretty certain they go into the 35 pin plug on the back of the radio but just not sure in which holes!

I found instructions for mounting the amp under the tour pack.

Thanks

This is not the instructions for the kit you have but this kit is very similar and the directions and wiring should be the same for the bike you are doing the install. It should help you out.
