The dragon is just one of those roads you should do,and many other roads in the same area.

I have ridden it many times but the last time was the best by far.  It was a Monday morning in late September so school had started and family vacation time over and too early for the fall foliage sightseers.  We pretty much had the road to ourselves.  I would avoid it on weekends and holidays for sure. 

I agree that there are more scenic enjoyable roads but there is something special about the Dragon.

The Dragon is one of those "do it so you can mark it off the bucket list" rides.  I've ridden it a handful of times, but it has become so congested, I'll probably never go back.  There are better roads in the area with less traffic.  Best time to ride it is early or late in the day during the week.  Stay away from holiday weekends.  Basically, I'd describe the Dragon as somewhat "tourist trappy."

It is, but it was the section after the store.
It was Hwy 63 we were on first that was up and down the hills that ran into 209.

Did the Snake Saturday in the snow.  Did not know that is what is was called, kept telling Terri man this is a great road for a bike ride . LOL
