Well I guess some of us Floridians are different. Mine is off, and only goes on when going on a several day trip.

It's not just a Florida thing... mine is the same way... only on for trips. I've even taken it off once reaching my destination if I'm going to be in one spot for several days.

The chopped tour paks on the '05 & the '09 are both detachable, never come off except for cleaning, BSR or not.

While my current scooter doesn't have a tour-pak (still waiting for Jesse to give his up..... :2vrolijk_21: ), I've owned quite a few Ultras over the years and never, ever considered removing the tour-pak.  Rode single and double quite often...tour-pak was always present and was darn glad to have it.  The tour-pak is actually the ONLY thing I miss riding Ginger.  Got a detachable, adjustable rack that I can pack a mule on but still miss the tour-pak...just so handy to have short/mid/long trips.

Had Road King's before my Ultra. Got rid of the RK just to have a nice tour pack. And the extra speakers make a world of difference also.

I'm one of the few with John and Gary I guess. Although I probably ride the least of the group. So I only do short runs. My BSR prefers the comfy seat when I have the tour pak on, but she'll settle for the streetglide over no ride. Since I've made it detachable I've only put it back on once in preparing for a long haul that didn't pan out thanks to a stomach bug :nervous:

Been riding with one on for ever, err, since my first Harley in '09.  Great place to put cases of beer.

Just so you know. The wrap around rest will fit on something other than the Harley King Tour Pack.

I along with several friends have SG's we all agree the bike handles better with the TP on, just our opinion, we have many years of riding between all of us.

Had a detachable on a '07 RKC, took it off 1 time. The only time mine moves on the SERK is too go 2up. An iced longneck Yuengling on a hot summer day, sitting on a ridge with 50mi views in the Smokies, priceless..............did I mention no Barflies?

The Harley saddlebag (the left one usually runs cooler) will hold a case and 2 bags of ice...
Just sayin' :bananarock:

I have a detachable tourpak for my SESG.  I leave it on most of the time because it is convenient.  I ride to work and it is easy to just throw my backpack in it and go.  I thought I would only use for trips but it stays on now most of the time.  Bike handles fine with it on.
