I was going to make a point about my Broncos, but your avatar threw me off and I can't remember what I was going to say. SJ Ron  :pineapple:

Too bad some folks can't match Peyton's class.

I definately wouldnt call Peyton a quitter.  No matter what happened yesterday in the Bronco beatdown, Peyton is still a class act guy and this will motivate him even more to come back better nxt yr.

While I am ambivalent about the outcome of the game, I would say that Manning would not have risen to the caliber of quarterback he is if he was a quitter.

In the end, the Seahawks just over whelmed the Broncos.

Yeah, and if the Broncos had won he would have been the greatest thing since sliced bread. Go figure.  I'd hate to have to live up to your expectations.   :drink:

I'm no expert, but it seems to me that the Seahawks were a better team, a whole team, a complete team. The Broncos seemed like a team built around one exceptional player, Manning, with a few standouts to support him. That formula was good enough to take them to the game, but not over the top.

It was not unlike the Broncos of the late 80s and early 90s, one exceptional player, Elway, who was talented enough to will them to the Super Bowl, but unable to win it alone.

But I could be wrong.

You aren't wrong.  Sadly the talking heads and bloggers who pass themselves off as experts these days don't seem to understand that it takes a TEAM effort to win the big one.  And the odds makers obviously forgot the old mantra that defense wins Super Bowls.

Peyton received way too much credit (which he deflected to his teammates on every occasion I can remember) when they won, and he has received too much blame when they lose (which he accepts and never ever badmouths his teammates).  Peyton doesn't play special teams, he doesn't play defense even though he could probably tackle as well as the real Bronco's defense, and he doesn't play offensive line.  Every single part of the team, from the coaching staff down, had a poor performance.  And yet Peyton stood up like the class act he is and took the blame on himself and defended his teammates when questioned by the press.

If you consider where the Bronco's were as a team before Manning arrived, there is absolutely no doubt that he made a huge difference over the past two years.  But he, or any other quarterback, can't do it alone.

This game reminds me of the Joe Montana vs. John Elway days when Joe took the Broncos to task in that Super Bowl, I think it was 55 to 10 or something like that.

Before the game, Anne asked me my prediction as she was Wearing her Peyton Manning Jersey.  I sad that my heart wants the Broncos but my head says that it will be the Seahawks.   I agree with many talking heads and will always  take the number 1 defense over the number 1 offense when it comes to the Superbowl.
