Fullsac Header and 2 1/4 baffles
« on: February 03, 2014, 06:45:31 AM »

Had my system since shortly after gettin the scoot. Since the SERK came with an open air cleaner if I add the Headers, & Baffles how long can I run without a tune without doing any damage? I know the performance will be off, but will it do any permanant damage? Had the money to marry my TTS to the '09 CUSE, but then both bikes would be tied to one Dongle, bad idea!! Thoughts please?

Bad Idea? Yes. Can you damage your motor? Yes. Bottom line is engine load. When you roll the throttle the engine will be lean, very lean.
I'm sure you can putt your bike around town at light loads with out issue. At steady speed and light to moderate engine loads, the ECM will enter closed loop
and still hit the target AFR number. The moment you roll the throttle the ECM will drop closed loop and go lean. More load, more lean, more heat, its real simple.
Jump on the freeway and set cruise at 85 and you could burn it down. If you own both bikes, whats the issue with one Cartridge? If later you sell one of the bikes,
keep the cartridge, you paid for it. Let me know if I can help. Your running my pipe, I want your bike to haul ass and run cool!

Thanks for the reply Steve......not what I hoped for, but what I really knew it would be. Will be in touch, foolish to count pennies now & chances are I will always own both scoots.
