Since most if not all of the newer standard GPS models do not offer an audio out, I started doing a little search on the internet and found an article that describes taking the normal speaker wires inside of a Garmin and adding an audio out plug. Anyone else tried this? Seems rather straight forward and just purchased a new Nuvi 2555lmt for $120 and thinking of making the modification and wiring it into my Aux in port on my radio. I know it will void my Garmin warranty. Since I can not honestly hear decent music going down the road anyways, thinking of using the Aux In feature on my radio to help when you can not see the screen real well. I have one of the Radios that has the GPS built in, but thank you Harley, they do not offer any updates. Besides the graphics are about worthless. I tried just using my smart phone and Google Maps, but you can not beat the GPS devices specifically designed for the task. Anyone have a better solution besides purchasing the Zumo? Just do not want to drop another $600-$700 into a GPS.
