I just bought a 13 Ultra Limited in Vivid Black, what is the best cleaner and wax for a black bike?

Look below at the Royal Blue thread.  Many positive comments.  Also, if you'll wax/polish in straight lines (as opposed to circles) you can diminish the swirl look that black paint shows so well.

I use a lot of different products.  Seem to have settled on the McGuires NXT or Turtle Wax Black Box.  Have not tried the ones mentioned above but have seen a lot of positive reviews.  For quick touch ups as these bikes collect/show a lot of dust I like either McGuires Detailer or the Lucas Slick Mist Wax.  Both seem to leave a shine without streaks.

The best cleaner/wax for black is a new color lol. My last bike was vivid black, 3 hours of detailing which looked great for about 10 mins.  :-\

Agreed. I never bought another black bike after the first...til the other day. But now I have a R O buffer and professional Maguires detailing products. I can make anything look new now. Bought th buffer at Harbor Freight and really works great. I replaced the 6" pad with a 3" pad, perfect for the bikes.

Wax preference can be like an oil thread LOL. The  guys that put their cars in the Autorama in Detroit, Mi turned me on to Jax Wax®. Goes on super easy, comes off even easier.

I swear by Adams Polishes It's been the best on my black CTSV cadillac and my Black road glide ultra they have a complete system including machine polishers and pads, the metal polish on chrome even takes out the scratches.

I have to agree.. Complete PIA to do the complete 5 step process but I have never seen anything like it after. I had been using the $100 a tub (small tub on top of that) Pinnacle which was great but not even close to Glare after the complete process.

Ive used just about every wax out there including the Adams kit, i just used Royal Blue on my black trike and my black Pacifica.  I would never use anything else, the ease of use, the shine, and the durability of this is outstanding.  I waxed my Pacifica a few months ago, it has been run thru the local car wash several times, this past weekend i ran thru a wall of honey bees on my way home, bees and honey all over the windshield, used some bugslide, and they came right off as easy as pie.  Try Royal Blue, i think you will be pleased.  I paid over 100 dollars for the Adams kit, used it once, took ALL day, never again.
