Nolan announced the B4+
« on: February 18, 2014, 12:17:05 PM »

Just got an email and went to their site. Besides a software upgrade they announced the newest B4 system. The "+" allows the Nolan to communicate with other brands.
They also announced an Android app for programming the B4.

I wrote and asked about upgrading the B4 (it appears to be a viable upgrade) as well as inquiring about an IOS app.

From an email:

To find out which hardware version is installed on your system, check the ‘ADVANCED FUNCTIONS’ window of the N-Com Wizard programme, under the ‘HW Version’ item.

N.B.: the new features require the latest version of the n-com wizard program.
Download the updated version in the download section.

N.B.: From the DOWNLOAD section, download the User Manual updated with the latest available Firmware version.

Somewhere I read the compatibility list. At the minimum it should now work with Cardo and SENA systems.

Anyone try the update yet?

I downloaded the firmware in our two helmets. Haven't tried the off brand bike to bike yet. But, the noise level between the intercoms was bad enough on the first road trip that I tuned the coms off.

I could clearly hear both my bike and the bike next to me over the coms.

Bringing this thread back to life...

I never got the Nolan N-Com B4 for my N-104... now I see that Amazon has it for a decent price.  But it is the B4 not the B4+

Can the B4 work as a B4+ with just the software/firmware update??  Is that the only difference?

Very disappointed in the system now.

See my post above re the "noise".

The system is not quite as loud as it use to be and and nearly impossible to switch the input to the hardwired input. Although my radio still cuts out like it always did.
My helmet also has a trim piece that pops out almost every time I take the helmet off. Nolan's answer to that was to not spread the helmet when donning or doffing.

Talked to Nolan USA yesterday.

2 things came up. First, the "menu option" "has changed" to get to wired music and was not documented  >:(

Second, mic sensitivity is set using N-Com Wizard software. If the tech is correct, the mic setting is the opposite of what would be intuitive when using the software, meaning moving the slider bar to the right decreases sensitivity.

We'll see, road test today maybe.
