Downloading a map after exhaust change
« on: February 24, 2014, 04:40:39 PM »

The weather is getting close to breaking so I am on the hunt for a pipe and tuner to cool things down before the riding season gets in full swing. The problem I am running into is I do not own a laptop, only a home computer and iPad. I assume the iPad is a no go with no way to load software via a drive. I either need to buy a cheap laptop or borrow one from a friend. If I borrow one can the base map be saved to a USB so if I don't have access to the laptop in the future I can use the drive to load it on another laptop? I really hate to buy a laptop just for a tuner, any suggestions or solutions would be appreciated!

Yes, original map can be saved to a USB, emailed to yourself, or put on a CD.  To be safe, I saved my original map and the new map on a couple of things.

Saved my original and the new TTS tune from fullsac on a jump drive just in case something happens to my lap top.

You could roll the bike into the house near the desktop, but I recommend you only do that when the better half isn't home.  ;)

If you have a TTS unit we supply you with a web storage location for free @

http://www.mastertune.net/repositary.php

and it is also stored in the interface itself too. So if you load the calibration you have it saved in the interface and PC to start with. With a few <clicks> more you can put it onto our web site were you can get it back whenever you want.

I will be going with a TTS from Fulsac so it is good to know that saving my original calibration won't be a problem. As I understand it the software used with the unit can be loaded onto any computer but the unit itself can only be used with one bike unless an additional license is purchased, correct?

The answer your question, "yes."  You can use any computer, but the "dongle" (I believe this is the term) is married to your Bike's VIN.  Also, when I bought my setup from Fullsac, the TTS Mastertune could only be used with Windows, so if you have an Apple you'd have to address that.

I just put on V&H dresser duals w/V&H twin slash rounds on my 2014 CVO Ultra Limited. I purchased the Dynojet Power Vision 2 and had them email me a tune for the Twin Cooled 110 w/the V&H Headers & Mufflers referenced above. I did need a windows pc to install the PV software just to take the tune from my email and unzip it prior to loading it on the Power Vision. This was a one time thing and if you have a buddy who has a Windows PC I sure they would let you use it for that purpose.

What I like about the PV is after I loaded the tune on the bike, I then went through the autotune process with the PV plugged into the the bike and then loaded the modified tune from the autotune. Bike is running great and I am very satisfied with the PV. I will probably run through another autotune process once the weather changes. Texas weather can be a bit sporadic until summer sets in.

The folks at Dynojet/Power Vision were very patient and helpful as this was the first time I've loaded a tune to a bike.

Good luck!

Well, all done with the tune and pipe install but now it's time to return a borrowed laptop. Anyone care to give me a clue how to find my original tune so I can email and copy it for future use just in case? I already saved the map Steve sent me just trying to save the original.

The tune will be saved in two places, Once in the interface itself and again in the upload directory on the PC as long as you allowed the PC to use the default path.
