Say hello to CRUSHER...
« on: February 27, 2014, 12:47:09 AM »

It's Honey Badger's new Big Brother! It was only a matter of time...

INFERNO ORANGE 2009 4WD Avalanche LTZ! I was lucky to find it in MINT condition... and I mean, literally SHOWROOM condition! They didn't make very many of these in orange, and for some reason the miscreant idiots who bought them in the first place don't seem to ever SELL them.

BWA HA HA HA HAAAAA!

With any luck, I'll convince Miss Mary to drive it to MV '14...

Sorry... HAD to share... I'm just GIDDY!

Sorry Chip... It ain't BLUE!!!

And Mike... you may have more Avys... but we all know the ORANGE ones are the FASTEST!!! A local constable tried to write me a speeding ticket in the parking lot!  8)

Unless you found one with a 6.0 in it, I'll take any of my 3 BLUE ones up against it. :P I think I can gain brownie points chips with this pix. ;D

fyi, for that black molding on the rear, look for a product called Refinish Restorer to get rid of that oxidation. Great stuff. Might seem a little pricey for a 1/2 litre can but that can will last for 3-4 years.

Bring that thang over here. We'll drop a Hemi in it and hang sum fuzzy dice from the rear view mirror.

Nice ride Ken. All you need now is a Florida Gator tag on the front, that would really piss of the local dawgs.  :2vrolijk_21:

That orange is a sweet color, congrats! The 3/4 tons with the 8.1 V8 were the ultimate tow vehicle, but unfortunately they haven't made those in a while. Horrible on gas but would tow anything you hooked to! Too bad they still have no plans to build them, the new 6.2 with 420 HP  would really be fun in one of these.

You been busy working but there's a product called Royal Blue you need to use on Orange Crush.
Orange Crush is a good name because if you shorten it to just initials it is a good description of you.

It just has the 5.3, Mike... But that's fast enough for me. Mary says I ride like a Bat Out Of Hell, and drive like the old man I apparently have become! Oh well...

Thanks for the tip on the restorer. Avys are terrible about oxidation on the rear tonneau... I fought that on both of my previous Avys. I will definitely try that stuff, because I really want the black to stay BLACK, and not turn that sickly gray...

The fuzzy dice might be a nice touch, Wiz! I don't think the Hemi motor mounts would fit, tho!  :'(

OBSESSIVE COMPULSIVE?!?!?

Me?!?!?

I can't believe you would say such an OUTRAGEOUS thing, Chip!
This coming from the guy with so many BLUE CVOs... All immaculate?

Well... Maybe it's true... Maybe...  :2vrolijk_21:

Thanks for the tip on the Royal Blue... as long as it doesn't STAY blue!  :D

BTW, I stopped by our Allstate agent this morning to switch the insurance, and it actually went DOWN a whopping $3 every 6 months... Sweet!

We have used a product called gator back on several Avalanches in our body shop and never had a comeback. If it still has bumper to bumper coverage (less than 3yr old and under 36 k) you may be able to have it applied under warranty by a local GM dealer. This was the only product authorized by and paid for by GM. We actually sprayed it on just like an automotive paint and it definitely made the plastic cladding look better than when new. They also make consumer kits that can be applied with a roller but I have no experience with them. Enjoy that new orange beast!
