Why the change from 8deg. to 25deg. inj

What is the reason for the inj. change from 8 deg. 27625-06 to the 25 deg. 27709-06?

Lucky1, the 8 degrees were a cheap buy for harley, but in a lot of cases they have issues such as cold start, poor idling and there was a Harley Tech Article or an informational given to the dealers with these type of problems.   I personally have never had them in a bike so it is hearsay and if I recall there were some on this site that had posted about it and problems.

So the answer would be reliablity and avoiding possible problems.  Some Harley dealers swapped out the 8's for the 25's and issues went away, some dealers never got it figured out, and have even heard of dealers giving away a Race Tuner to solve the tunability issues for the customer.   If it were me and I had the 8 degrees *Delco* ones I would insist that the dealer switched them out.   Others just chose to buy the 25's and avoid possible issues now and later.

Harry's correct - it was a driveability issue created by poor fuel atomization.

OK, so there's no doubt, will the 25o work in my 2004?
When I mentioned the 25s to my local's service tech he said they were only considered for the 2006.  Since my 2004 has the same problems, why shouldn't I switch... same injun.  
I hate arguing with techs, because they may know more than me. :D

Before I get my next dynotune, seems like I should get the 25o injectors installed as Harry has suggested to me several times.

So much for that!? Upgrading the injectors sounded good for awhile.

Yeap, I'd considered the same thing when I scored a set for free.  Given the price I was pretty disappointed to find out I couldn't use them.

Thanks for the photo it brings up a question. Is there anything that can be done to prevent this or other buildups/deposits from forming on the injectors? I'm thinking good quality fuel would be one source, but was wondering if some of the over the counter additives on a periodic basis would be worth using?
