Great stuff. Saw Alabama HP motor cops at Alabama HOG rally a couple of years ago, I did not know that those bikes could turn that tight a radius, but it always helps when someone else is paying for your floorboards!!! ;D ;D

We did a charity ride a few months ago here in Marietta, GA and had 18 motor cops escorting the ride.  After the ride, we were all invited over to their training area for a demo.  Awesome!! They took four Road Kings and put them all in the tiny little circle at the same time. I mean 12 inches wheel to wheel at full tilt.  And they all made it, more than once.

Things went a bit downhill when they tried to stuff three Road Kings in one half of the figure eight and got a little piled up.  They admitted they were pushing it for the crowd and they hadn't ever tried that before.  They tried to explain their way out of it, but the embarrassment was evident.

As for the floorboards, lets just say they were all very well "feathered".  The civillian riders in the group were impressed after one person asked what modifications had beed done to the bikes so they could maneuver like that.  Noting was the reply, all stock running gear, just practice, and lots of it.

I have bought the video from Jarrey "Motorman" Palladino (http://www.ridelikeapro.com) and have done a lot of practice and thought I was pretty good, but I quickly realized what good really is.  I do strongly reccomend the video, but dropping the bike comes with the territory.  That's OK on my '99 Classic, but the new bike won't be put to the same test.

Practice Practice Practice [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

I don't think I could do this even with my electric scooter [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

ps  Cut the sound up and listen to how high the rpm's are when they ride the course. Those clutches must take a beating

This is a little insight about the HPD officers involved in the Presidential Motorcade accident on Hickam AFB.
1. The HPD officers did practice the Presidential route many times prior to the accident, - But NEVER in the rain, they do not train in the rain...Foul on their part! It rains here almost every morning.

2. HPD had another Moto go down escorting the President in a solo accident the eveningbefore on wet roads, - Foul number two!

3. The HPD officers set the pace of the motorcade and were travelin around 65 mph in a 35 mph zone and any local awareness of the route you would know that particular curve they went down on collects water during every rain, and they were EXTREMELY too fast for conditions. It was absolutely rediculous to drive that fast on a SECURED Govt installation.

4. The officers were traveling from what I have heard 3-wide on a single lane road, they self induced this accident trying to impress the President and endangered the life of the President and his staff on a totally preventable accident.

Just a little insight the road they traveled on was shut down to all traffic 1.5 hours prior to the motorcade traveling through.

One of the police officers involved has passed away.

He is the second Honolulu PD to be killed this week.
