March 15 FOB reminder !!!
« on: March 15, 2014, 03:38:38 PM »

Simple suggestion for those who want to avoid "easily avoidable problems"...

Once a year, I change batteries in my FOBs. I don't care if they're good or bad, I just don't want to go to that point where I realize I don't remember my PIN code and I'm stuck somewhere on the road.

Simple advice, take it or leave it.

See you next year !!!   :)

I buy 4 new every year. Change 2 and put 2 fresh in the bags. Have bailed a few people out that are not diligent about changing them!!!!

Seems the only date I can remember is my birthday so a present to myself on my birthday is to replace batteries.....fobs, flashlight, smoke detector, cameras, etc.  Anyway, the ones that are not rechargeable.

I change the scooter battery when I change the lifters........ :nervous:

Mine were actually dead last week when I went to get it out of hibernation. Quick trip to Autozone and picked up two of them. Believe it or not, MoCo's prices are reasonable for them at $2 each. I'll pick up a few spares to keep with me next time I hit a store that has them.

as is normal for me, i'm gonna go against the crowd here.  i don't bother changing batteries in my fob until my old ones die.  i don't have a problem with remembering my override code, and i know how to use it.  so if my battery dies, i use my code until i pick up a new battery.

to me it's like throwing away a half drunk coke and getting a new one, just so you 'don't run out'.  especially, if like the op, you have a stockpile of them.  i usually get over 3 years out of them anyway.

besides, there are gonna be times that you are going to have to use your override code even if your batteries are good just because of rfi.  so you better know how to use it anyway.
