2012 FHLTCUSE7
« on: March 17, 2014, 04:20:54 PM »

Just looking for some quick advice. I was at the local dealer on Saturday and they have a used 2012 Ultra CVO with 7,600 miles on it and they are asking $30,000. It is black and yellow and has Vance and Hines X pipe and mufflers with a screaming eagle tuner. Nothing else appears to be changed.

Any thoughts on this price? Fair? Cheap? Stupidly high?

Thanks for the info.

You can rest assured that the dealer doesn't have more than about $26,000 in it, if that.  That's the average trade in value.  KBB says the dealer retail would be about $31K in excellent condition.  The price isn't stupidly high, but I'll bet you could get it for $29K, even from the dealer.

Check out Chopper Exchange and Cycle Trader along with Craigslist. You can always find better deals as a matter of fact there is a smok'in deal in Portland Craigslist for a 2012 Orange and Black Ultra CVO, just had motor replaced by Harley only 400 miles. Price $27,500. Here is the link.    http://portland.craigslist.org/clk/mcy/4362845071.html

That sure is a purdy bike.  Just ask JR!  Personally I am partial to the O&B but the yellowjacket / bumblebee is a close second.  Hope you can get a deal worked out to your satisfaction.  You won't be sorry.  It is a great bike.   :2vrolijk_21:

I bought a 12 CVO ultra orange and black.  I really like any of the 3 colors of that year.  Pics don't do them justice and the details of the paint really show up outside.  I bought mine real right.  Had 2800 miles on it with Rhineharts on it.  That was only mod done to it.  I happen to get it from a car dealer who took it trade in on a new vette.  They had it on floor asking 31000 for it and had dropped the price a little but when the 14's hit the floor he said he quit getting calls on it.  I had made an offer on it that 4 weeks later he called and accepted.  I was actually on my way to order a 14 ultra  and got this one 2 grand cheaper than I would have paid for that.   My point is 30 seems ok but there is a few on ebay now that have less miles and are just a few grand cheaper than that.  If it was me with the miles on it, I wouldn't give more than 28 that being said they are great bikes and will hold their value better than non CVO bikes.

If you really want it I would offer 26K  and negotiate it to 28K

I was looking to trade a 2008 Anniversary edition ultra with lots of goodies and 48,000 miles. The price they shot me out the door was so unrealistic I literally spit my coffee out when the guy told me!

They wanted 22 out the door difference! I was thinking more along the lines of 17 difference.

Oh well I wasn't THAT in love with it! Guess I will keep the copper top a couple more years.

It's not crazy but I would lean on them pretty hard to what you can do.  Just out of curiosity your avatar/Sig says you have a 2013.  You getting another?

X2 I agree with this price point offer. I paid 27,500 for a two year old 09'SEUC with 5,000 miles at a dealer.

A dealer offered me $26,000 for my 2012 CVO Ultra with 23,000 miles on it. So $30,000 isn't to far off as a retail figure.

Local dealer here has two orange and black 2012's and they are asking $33500 for each of them.  One has 13000 miles and the other 20000 miles.  They also have the sapphire and silver one with 7500 miles and asking the same price.  They have the 2011.5 with 20000 miles for $31500 (but I know that bike and it has everything from complete exhaust, race tuner, dynotune, upgraded stereo with speakers in the lowers, all LED's including headlamps, all bolts on the bike are chrome or maybe polished stainless, and the bike is absolutely in pristine condition and pampered).  A friend of mine traded it for a '14 model and I think they actually gave him around $29k on the trade.  I even thought about trading my '12 for it when I only had a few thousand miles on it.  It sounds like these bikes are going for a lot less in other places.

Keep in mind that the worth of pre-Rushmore bikes has tumbled.

I bought my orange & black FLHTCUSE7 last June from a dealer for $32,000.  Bike was absolutely stock with 6,000 miles and had all the extra CVO goodies included.  At the time, that was a good deal.  In September I was offered $22,000 in trade for it on a '14.  I could have argued it a little higher, but probably not much higher.

OP's '08 is a dinosaur now.....Trade in on it is going to be downright insulting.  But then again there should be no issue getting a '12 for 26-27,000.
