I'm sure many of you have heard of these cruises, but for this who have not, let me tell you... You gotta try it.
ETA Motorcycle Cruises run by Steve Wallach organize through Royal Caribbean and Celebrity (same company) from the ports in Bayonne NJ, Ft. Lauderdale and from Miami. Any where from 15 to 30 bikes loaded by the operators ( no one else touches your ride but you) into the hull of the cruise ship and away you go.
Each island you dock at has an agreement with ETA for insurance, licensing, escorts, local bike club hosts and gasoline. You do nothing but show up when and where you are instructed to load and unload the bikes and you ride the islands.
Each ride is planned. You ride as a group and have escorts to hold traffic as you ride together. You see all the site, stop for lunch, a beer, some shopping etc etc. then sits back to the ship, load up and go again to the next island.
We've ridden Bermuda, St.Kitts, St.Maarten, and St.Thomas, but they also go to other Caribbean spots depending on the Royal or Celebrity itineraries.
We met great, like minded people, were the talk of the ship, and the envy of every one of the other passengers who have a bike and wondered why the hell they never did the same thing.
